Application deadline extended to February 15!
Maryknoll
has a long history in China beginning in the early 1900's. Maryknoll
has a strong commitment to facilitating service work in the People's
Republic of China even today. We seek to place active and committed
Christians in schools where their dedication and example will be of
service to the Chinese people. It is the government of China that has
emphasized the teaching of English by native speakers as a priority
subject for Chinese students. In fact, the government has named English
as the "first foreign language" of the country. It is hoped
that, as a result of language interchange, foreign teachers will understand
more about China and the Chinese will understand more about the West.
Maryknoll also sponsors other people and projects, which serve the poor
and the sick in China.
